  1. Ammo You Can Afford.......

Posted by Jack Lalley on 4th Apr 2017

I love my 6.5 G, however it is expensive to shoot. I initially bought 500 rounds of the Wolf 100gr ammo for practice. This ammo gives you a chance to practice with that 6.5G you have hiding in your gun safe. Great ammo for practice at a reasonable price. I pulled the bullets, on two boxes, added my favorite powder and 120gr Barnes All Copper bullets. My girlfriend shot a doe and a buck with my reciepe, one shot for each deer. The nice part is I didn't loose any expensive brass with those hunts. Another plus is that these guys deliver it FAST!

  2. Wolf ammo and Ventura Munitions

I've shot over a thousand rounds of Wolf ammo and have never had ANY issues, either in my .45 or my 6.5 Grende l. It is accurate and reliable, and I had my ammo at my door within several days. Thank you Ventura Munitions. I've got a few new customers for you.

  3. Wolf 6.5 Grendel

Ammo is good to go! Used this ammo as an inexpensive way to sight in my RF 6.5 G upper that I slapped on a lower I already had in the safe, only fired 40 rounds, my bore sight didn't clear my muzzle brake so it took a few too many to get on paper lol, these were my last 6 shots at a 50 yard sight in, obviously I yanked one! I would not hesitate to buy this ammo again, scope was a cheap nikko sterling I had laying aroundI, can't wait to get a better optic and try this ammo out further.....MG_0710.IMG_0711.JPG

  4. Wolf 6.5 Grendel

I had bought PPU 6.5 and found out they lack power enough to reload the next round. So far Wolf has been accurate, and works as well as Hornandy. Stay away from PPU is your using AR plaform

I expected a few fail to fire or fail to extract so I initially bought 100rds. Didn't have any fail to fire or extract. I did get a jam due to a case no fully ejecting but I believe it was due to hitting my brass catcher that I had not removed from the previous shooting session. Groups from a 14.5" barrel were 1.5 - 2" at 100. I did have a couple sub 1.5" but only 2 or 3 5 shot groups achieved it. Velocity is ok. It seemed to group about 1/2" under my 123gr factory Hornady sst. I'm VERY pleased with this cheap plinking ammo. I also was able to hit an 8" gong at 485yds very consistent. 8/10 shots hit.

This ammo is good for paper punching on a budget. I prefer the PPU when it is on sale and available.

  7. Very good low cost ammo

I've waited years for for wolf to produce a line of steel cased 6.5G. Well they did and it's very good however, like all steel case wolf it lacks accuracy. It's about 4 moa which isn't horrible but with everything else in 6.5 grendel being either moa or sub moa it's mildly disappointing. It has functioned 100% without issue. Best use would be a carbine course, fun time plinking and general training.
